We will be picked up at the Jomo Kenyatta airport or our city hotel. After a brief introduction we drive westwards to the Rift Valley escarpment for a photo stop before proceeding on to the Lake Nakuru National Park. We arrive in time for lunch at our camp and proceed for game drives in the afternoon. The park prides itself of the Big Five excluding the Elephants and a wide variety of birds such as Flamingoes and Pelikans and other water birds making it the most remarkable bird paradise in Africa. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Flamingo Hill camp.
We have an early breakfast and leave for a 1 hour 30minutes drive to Lake Bogoria National Reserve. We proceed straight for game drives along the lake shores and marvel at the hot springs where steam jets are evidence of the volcanic activity in the scenic area. Later, we drive via the Tugen Hills with a lunch stop in Kabarnet through the scenic Kerio Valley to Kitale. The Kerio Valley is a deeply faulted and greatly eroded volcanic block of the Eastern Rift Valley presenting one of the most spectacular and wildly beautiful scenery in the world. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the historic Kitale Club.
Once again we need to start the day as early as 7.00am early to allow adequate time for game drives within Mt. Elgon National Park. Here there is the possibility of seeing elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes among other game. We shall enjoy a picnic lunch at Kitum caves, one of the famous caves where elephants and buffaloes visit for a mineral lick. Afterwards, we drive through Kapchorwa, crossing the border into Uganda and proceed to the Sipi Falls River Lodge for our dinner and overnight stay.
Today we explore the western side of Mt. Elgon. Sipi Falls is home to a series of three spectacular waterfalls, some of the best Arabica coffee in the world, world class mountain biking and beautiful sunsets. After breakfast we take a hike to the falls and appreciate incredible number of bird species on the way. We return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, take another nature walk in the scenic area. Mt. Elgon is an important water tower and feeds its water to the Victoria Nile. After watching a magnificent sunset we return for dinner and overnight stay at our lodge
After a relaxed breakfast we drive through a typical ever green Ugandan countryside, via the towns of Soroti and Lira. We stop at the Karuma Falls of the Victoria Nile for picnic lunch. After the obligatory photos we continue on the Gulu – Arua Road and enter Murchinson National Park through Purongo gate. With game drives en-route we arrive in the late afternoon at Paraa Lodge on the banks of the Nile for dinner and overnight stay.
This is our day to sample the Murchison’s Falls National Park with either morning or afternoon game drives, in search of Lions, Buffaloes, Giraffe, Elephants, Hartebeest, the rare Shoebill Storck, and herds of Ugandan Kobs. A three hour boat trip takes us along the placid Victoria Nile upstream to the base of the Kabarega Falls - just ten meters from the ‘Devils cauldron’ which is absolutely fantastic. On the banks of the river we find Elephants, Buffaloes while Crocodiles and Hippos inhabit the waters. Dinner and overnight stay will once again be at the lodge.
After breakfast, we check out of the lodge, cross the mighty River with a ferry and drive to Entebbe with lunch on the way for our onwards travel arrangements or an overnight stay.
